Carson River Fall Color Hike

  • October 28, 2012 · 8:30 AM

We'll start the hike at Buckland Station south of Silver Springs. We'll hike east along the Carson River, hopefully the cottonwoods will be in full color after this cold snap. We'll then head south across the desert and a small playa to meet the Pony Express/American Discovery Trail and loop back to the Station. Approximately 10 miles, level ground. $1.00 State Park walk-in fee. Well behaved dogs welcome.

It was a beautiful day for a hike surrounded by the changing colors of trees. Thanks, Donna, for leading us on the adventure.

No this hike is just 10 miles long. 16 miles is my limit, well maybe 17. But not 20.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
