Monthly Meeting - Jasmine Swope

Jasmine Swope, a Camera Committee member and local photographer, will present an overview of her work, including a series of hand-made books and palladium prints at the Monday, March 11 meeting.

Jasmine comes from a family tradition of photography. At a young age, she began working in the darkroom with her father, printing in black and white. She holds a B.A. from Brooks Institute and has worked on national advertisement campaigns for over two decades. Her current projects include photographic works relating to the human experience with nature. She enjoys working with a large format film camera and making images using a hybrid method of combining digital processes with traditional platinum and palladium printing.

Jasmine exhibits photographs in both group and solo shows. In January, she exhibited her series Along the River at the Venice Arts Gallery, a benefit exhibition for sending disadvantaged children on a sponsored trip to experience the Grand Canyon. See more at her web site: www.jasmineswope.com
