Public Forum on Hydrofracturing for natural gas in PA:

Local elected officials, academics and faith leaders will join community members and students for a public forum focusing on fracking. Speakers will discuss the dangers associated with this new process for extracting natural gas, the impact it has had on Pennsylvania, and what residents can do to fight it.

Confirmed speakers for the forum include:
Willie Reynolds, Councilmember, City of Bethlehem
Al Wurth, Professor of Political Science, Lehigh University
and exec. committee member, Lehigh Valley Sierra Club
Julie Edgar, Organizer, Lehigh Valley Gas Truth
Sam Bernhardt, Pennsylvania Organizer, Food & Water Watch
Mary Lou Hatcher, Clerk, Friends Meeting of Bethlehem
Evin Epstein, Student at Lehigh University

Lehigh Valley Sierra Club is co-sponsoring this forum. After our successful community festival on sustainable living, "Earth Days on the Greenway", this past weekend, this public discussion of the hydrofracturing boom that is devastating "Penns Woods" is a timely Earth Week event. We hope everyone in the Bethlehem area will consider coming tonight to learn about why Fracking in PA needs to be banned NOW.

Do you breathe or drink water in Pennsylvania?
If so, you oughta be there TONIGHT.
Unless you like breathing methane or drinking deisel fuel . . .
