River Cruise of St. Johns and Ortega Rivers

Enjoy the rivers and learn about the area's history and ecology on this St. Johns Riverkeeper tour. The S.S. Marine Taxi departs from and returns to the Friendship Fountain, 1015 Museum Circle, behind the Museum of Science & History.

The boat is covered and has waterproof curtains that can be lowered in case of rain. Bring camera, binoculars, snacks or lunch, and water bottle.

This popular cruise sells out fast so reserve ASAP with the Riverkeeper directly. The Riverkeeper is holding some spots for the Sierra Club so please advise them that you are with the Sierra Club. Please cancel at least 48 hours in advance because there's usually a waiting list. Cost: $15 adults; $5 for under 12. Call [masked] or email: [masked] to make reservations.

Please also let outings leader June know that you are coming by RSVP on this Meetup or [masked] after you have contacted the Riverkeeper for your spot. For more information: www.mystjohnsriver.com.

I loved it! Would like to be able to invite some friends next time. The trip up the Ortega River was wonderful! Primal. What a treat! The 'development' of home sites was a lesson in and of itself of what could, should and should NOT be done to the riverfront. Especially since we do not have a 'greenway' like many states do to what can and can't be done by homeowners and businesses for 'lawns.' Appreciated water and snacks. Water testing great for kids. Highly recommended and stay for the museums nearby. Thanks Riverkeeper, Sierra, and to all involved. k2

A peaceful scenic cruise down the river where we got to see beautiful scenery and some wildlife. The naturalists on board were very informative and made the trip enjoyable.
