Biking in Guana

This location is shown only to members

Meet at the trail head which is about 200 yards beyond the dam. Bike the Park loop and see one outlook tower or both towers if this is preferred by bikers. Bring snack and water. The entrance to Guana (Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Reserve) and the dam is on the west side of AIA approximately 17 miles south of Butler Boulevard. The entrance is just north of the Gate service station on AIA. There is a $3.00 entrance fee to Guana. Please call or e mail to reserve your spot.

One or 2 questions about trip. FAt tire bicycles are necessary but multi speeds are not. You can do this on a beach cruiser or hybrid. Expect to peddle up to 10 miles although we can cut it down considerably according to group. Leasurly pace.

Guana Reserve and the adjacent Wildlife Management Area offers a huge swath of wild Florida; there are many thousands of acres to roam, and biking is a good way to cover lots of ground. There are numerous trails and wonderful vistas; Rob, a local native Floridian and our Sierra guide ensured everyone a safe and memorable day.

Guana is a beautiful place, and biking is a great way to see it. Very nice group of people.
