Walk: Whidbey Camano Land Trust preserves - South Whidbey Island

Three preserves to explore: Trillium Community Forest (between Freeland and Greenbank); Saratoga Woods (northwest of Langley overlooking Saratoga Passage); and Hammons Preserve (overlooking Cultus Bay). Each preserve has easy trails suitable for families.

Optional Work Party at the Trillium Community Forest from 9 am until noon. Water, coffee, and snacks are provided.

Learn about the Whidbey Camano Land Trust, a private non-profit land conservation organization working for over 25 years to protect the Islands' most important natural habitats, scenic vistas, and working farms and forests. The Land Trust focuses on partnerships with landowners and the community to permanently protect our islands' most important lands. www.wclt.org

Sign up required. No pets please.

Everyone is encouraged to carpool, especially those travelling by ferry to the island. Carpooling is not a part of the Sierra Club outing. To join a carpool, please provide your starting location, preferred Park & Ride and if you can drive.

I live in Mukilteo, not far from the ferry terminal. Plan to be on the 8:30 am ferry.  Walk on fare for adults is $4.65. Return is free.

Final sign-up requires providing the leader with your cell phone number to facilitate coordination.

    Hi Angel, Pauline and Bill,

I'm looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow. We'll probably arrive at the Trillium preserve about 9:15 am. You have the option to saunter around the preserve or join me and others at the work party to remove invasive plants. If interested, bring gloves and any cutting tools such as loppers and small hand saws. I have extras to use.

Please let me know which option you want so we can plan. Also, to coordinate meeting and transportation, please let me know what your cell phone number is. Mine is[masked]-0350.

    See you soon.

I would like to carpool with you and Sally from this location. I hope I will not be (once again) asked for my hiking resume in order to attend this event ;) Thank you.
