HOW TO JOIN SMG - PLEASE COMPLETE THESE STEPS
ABOUT SMG MEMBERSHIP LEVELS
Anyone can join SMG for free and have access to videos and photos from our events, our trip reports and blog, our e-book, post private events, and of course the ability to RSVP to climb with us. This is our FREE Level membership. To do this simply fill out your profile on sierramountaineeringgroup.org and sign up for the free membership to have access to our videos and media. The only cost is an RSVP fee of $20 per event.
To go beyond the free level and gain access to our growing library of training videos and custom topo maps, attend our core training classes, have access our loaner gear and transportation, search the membership database for partners, and have access to a do-it-yourself training plan, please join us at the BASIC Level of $20 per month, or $200 per year to get 12 months of membership for the price of 10, and the RSVP fee is permanently waived.
To have immediate premium access to all that is provided at the Free and Basic level plus tons more, please join us at the PRIORITY Level. You will have 1st priority RSVP to all events before all other members, a training plan designed just for you, unlimited access to our entire stock of training videos and core class videos, live streaming of core classes, all our training documents and info, maps, our e-book, and of course all event videos, plus wholesale and pro-deals on gear and products, and a lot more. Each participant is solely responsible for their own personal safety during the entire trip, regardless of the expertise / decisions of the organizer, including the transportation from and back to the meetup location .
Each participant must be adequately experienced and self-sufficient in order to match the rigors present at the event. Physical and mental effort to some level of challenge is always present at all events. Many events require specialized skills such as fall protection, self rescue, survival and crevasse rescue. Events always involve some level of technical mountaineering, and will include some or all of the following: snow and ice climbing, rock climbing, glacier climbing, steep terrain, harsh conditions, off trail navigation, altitude, hunger, thirst, fatigue and general deprivation. :-)
