Public Program: On the Road to Wilderness

Join the Many Rivers Group for our Public Program, “On the Road to Wilderness, ” with guest speakers Joe Walicki and Gary Tepfer.  Mr. Walicki, a communications and  public relations advocate,  will share a history of  what works and what doesn’t in wilderness protection.  Mr. Tepfer, an acclaimed photographer, will talk about the people who made wilderness in Oregon happen.

Mike Brinkley, Many Rivers Political Chair, will give an update on our current Hardesty Wildlands Campaign. The Hardesty area is a local treasure only 30 miles southeast of Eugene and provides the community excellent hiking and recreational destinations, wildlife viewing, and drinking water for Cottage Grove.

Excellent program with a lot of information given on the process of establishing wilderness areas. Good questions and input from the audience.
