Tell us a little about yourself...

I grew up and live in Westchester County, NY. My academic and professional background has been focused on biology, ecology, and natural history but main interest is in aquatic and marine biology. Hold a B. A. in Biology and M. S. in Environmental Education. Worked seasonally/contracted at various environmental organizations in New England and New York over the years. My last job was at the American Museum of Natural History, working with data-basing the AMNH bee collection. Spend 2 months living, learning about permaculture and working on a eco-kibbutz in Israel in the southern (Arava Desert) of the country. Nature photography and reading are my favorite pastime activities.

What are your favorite outdoor recreation activities? (e.g. hiking, xc skiing, backpacking, snowshoeing, paddling)

Nature walking/easy-moderate hiking; nature photography

What are some of your favorite areas to visit for outdoor recreation?

1) The coast: shoreline, salt marsh, rocky intertidal zone, beach 2) Woodlands: dedicious and coniferous forests with streams 3) Riverine habitat Coastal Alaska and Maine coast (in summertime) are my favorite places I've visited.

What kind of outings would you be willing to lead as a volunteer?

None, just want to be a participant but not a outings leader.

What is the most pressing environmental issue for you today?

Ocean and freshwater ecosystems conservation, and biodiversity conservation.

Introduction

I am a nature lover. Enjoy spending time exploring the shores and woods of the Northeast, sharing the experience with other like-minded people, and photographing wildlife (birds, mammals, insects). Have background in bio and environmental studies.
