Hiking and the Service work. Although we enjoy basecamping, biking and paddlesports (we have kayaks and a canoe we keep in MI), Jim and I have not been involved with them as much in the past several years. We are aging, I guess.
Yes since I have been an Outing leader for most of my years since joining. Also I have been involved in a number of other roles with the Club: on the Executive Committee, as part of the Membership and Fundraising Committees. I have enjoyed the annual Retreat, Earth Day on Sawyer Point, the Morning Glory Ride, the All-Sierra Fall Campouts we used to have and many other activities. I am a faithful attendee at the monthly Innings and coordinate the refreshments for them. I enjoy meeting new people and promoting Sierra Club whenever I can. I believe it is the best organization there is for helping the environment.
I have been an active member of the Miami Group for over 20 years. I live in Westwood on 1.4 acres of urban nature in an old house. Besides loving the outdoors and our 2 dogs and 5 cats, I love to travel. MI and CO are favorite states.
Members who attend these Service Outings are dedicated participants and committed to helping the environment. It is a great group for not only enjoying but helping to preserve outdoor spaces.
