Bringing New Technology To Market: Tesla Motors' Sourcing Strategy

Speaker: Milo Werner, Tesla

Milo will outline Tesla's sourcing strategy for new technology products. We will use Tesla Motor's Roadster as a basis to discuss how to choose between building your own manufacturing facility versus out-sourcing.   In particular the presentation will highlight the advantages of collocation of manufacturing and engineering, and the benefits and pitfalls of partnering with established companies.

Video of previous presentation:

-- Light dinner for pre-registrants only starting at about 6:30 PM.

-- Lecture starting at about 7 PM or whenever a quorum shows up, whichever comes first.

There will be a recording of the talk; I will post the link when I have it. Expect a 10-day delay. Milo Werner gave a talk at Berkeley on the same topic and a video is already available. As to whether this is the same talk, you'd have to ask the presenter, who does not read these comment threads I'd guess.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
