Tell us a little about your interest and history with cars and open source. There are no wrong answers, so feel no pressure!

Born in Detroit. Father, Grandfathers and Uncles all worked in the industry -- when it was thriving. Background in computer science and software engineering. Hypothesis: A few necessary but not sufficient conditions for an object (cars included) to be legitimately considered "smart" is that: 1) the object know who its owner is and if they are currently using the object 2) the object know how much it cost its owner and what additional expense it may rack up for its owner in the future 3) the object can be in some sense aware of any other associated or nearby similarly "smart" objects.

Introduction

Working on tying together the physical and computational worlds - AKA The Internet of Things. Cars can be pretty physical, you know.
