Way early in my career I developed embedded software for ECU for a well-known OEM located in Munich/Germany since this is where I lived at the time and where I went to engineering school. That was not Linux of course since it was around the time when Linus made his famous post. I have been an early Linux user since the mid 90s and always thought it would be great to have Linux systems in cars. However, the time was not ready but now it is and when this opportunity with the Linux Foundation came along I jumped on it. Now I am frequently evangelizing Linux at automotive industry conferences. And since last year the Linux Foundation also has an Automotive Linux Summit. Check it out at events.linuxfoundation.org.
I am a Linux Foundation staff member and managing the Linux Foundation's embedded activities with a strong focus on automotive.
