SVAOS members,Reminder about Thursday night's event at NEW LOCATION
Thursday night we are pleased to host P.K. Mishra of General Motors speaking about "Open-source Android In-Vehicle Infotainment Unit." Please pre-register by noon tomorrow if you will attend and want a snack before-hand:
I will order the food at about noon tomorrow (10/30)
, so please change your RSVP to "no" before then if you know you are not coming. Feel free to just show up or bring guests without registering them if they are not eating.
Don't forget that the event will be held at Silicon Valley Cloud Center in Sunnyvale
, not at any of the 3 facilities where we've met before. Thanks very much to Robert for picking up the food and Jeff for picking up the drinks. We hope to have the refreshments laid out by 6:30 and get the talk going by about 7 or shortly thereafter. Thanks much to SVCC for hosting us and ICS for sponsorship of the refreshments.

I've received some complaints about the number of reminder messages that members get. Note that these messages are auto-generated by meetup.com
and do not come from me. You will receive only one or two messages per month from me. Control the other messages meetup.com
generates via the account settings there. That's between you and meetup.com
and is not configurable by me.
Book recommendation: American Wheels, Chinese Roads
by Michael Dunne: fascinating. I will bring my copy along Thursday night.Call for more volunteers
As always, I am seeking helpers for event logistics, on-line publicity, speaker recruitment, facility tour arrangements, etc. If your company would like to sponsor a projector or wireless microphone for SVAOS, please speak up. If your company would like to sponsor a purely social SVAOS event, let me know. If you as an individual would like to speak or to help organize a job fair or Expo, raise your hand. As we approach 500 members, we can consider a broader range of offerings or more frequent, diverse meetings if someone else will organize them.
