Introduction

I'm a fine artist living in Los Gatos, CA. I've spent a lot of time working in art academia, as well as exhibiting my own work internationally. I've been a working artist for 15 years and have lived and worked in the greater bay area primarily.

What art disciplines/media do you work in?

I'm primarily an experimental filmmaker, which is pretty non-specific. It can mean painting on film, doing weird animation, appropriating found footage, and anything non narrative in nature. I currently also work with sound, and do video installations. In the past I've also worked with collage, drawing, printmaking, and clay.

What is your background as an artist?

My background is mostly working in the local experimental film scene, mostly in San Francisco. I have organized and promoted both narrative and experimental film exhibitions, and have participated in gallery shows and film exhibitions both locally and abroad. I've studied art academically also, studied art abroad, and thus have received some degrees. I've been a teaching assistant for film classes, and co-taught one myself. I've lectured on art subjects and led discussions. Yada yada =).

What do you hope to get out of this group?

I hope to achieve the goals of the group, as described in its description. I want to enrich my own practice, meet other artists, and sustain my own artistic discipline.
