Dear SV Digital Learning Meetup Folk,
Thank you for your participation in the continuing conversations around digital learning! As mentioned, we have a new course on Education's Digital Future (edf) at Stanford, which will run all three quarters this year, with a public website and occasional public forums and panels.
Our next event is described below: "Evolution of Digital Curricula"
Please join us and REGISTER for the event at this URL:
Date: Tuesday, November 6, 2012, Reception from 5-6 p.m. and Forum Discussion from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm
Location: CERAS Learning Hall (Auditorium), Stanford University
This forum brings together four experts to explore key questions concerning the evolution of digital curricula. Participant speakers will include Catherine Casserly (CEO, Creative Commons); Tom Vander Ark (former Executive Director of Education for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Managing Partner at Learn Capital and author of Getting Smart: How Digital Learning is Changing the World); Prasam Ram (Founder and CEO of Ednovo, a non-profit education company that develops Gooru, a search engine for learning) and Steve Midgley, Consulting Adviser to the US Department of Education and former Deputy Director of Education Technology, USDoE.
We will also begin tweeting with the #stanfordedf hashtag for events, readings, happenings that relate to the themes of this course and this meetup group, and will welcome your own postings that utilize this hashtag. Hope to see you soon!
