Re: [Appsforkids] FTC talks Coppa meeting Monday: send me your topics

Great discussion. I'll add 2 more:

- What are the restrictions on user generated content sharing through the app, i.e. in a content creation app like a drawing or photography app, how can the content the child created be shared? Can parents save it to the device photos? Can they email the content directly from the app or post it to FB via an option provided in the app?

- Are there restrictions on social media usage for promotional purposes in kids apps? If your app has a "for parents" section, can you put Facebook / Twitter / email share buttons for parents to recommend the app to other parents? If yes under what conditions (e.g. "child proofing" access to this section)?

Thanks,
Yael

Would love to attend but we are on the East Coast.  I'm hoping there will be a summary of what was covered.

Q.  If an app uses Game Center (GC has their own EULA) and an app developer lists their own privacy policy on their website stating that no personal information is collected about users, in particular children, is there any conflict here?  any problem?

Thank you,

I'd be interested to discuss the potential repercussions of IAPs re: COPPA. Is directing young users to an app/site that will try to 'sell' to them considered an infringement of kids rights? More generically, what about collecting any kind of data, via a competition etc?

Hi all,

We're very excited to have the FTC here on Monday to answer your questions about COPPA.

If you have particular questions or topics you'd like to hear about, please send them to me in advance. Our guest is open to talking about whatever is most relevant to you, and the more advance notice we can give her the better.

Thanks, and hope to see you Monday!

Josh
