Hi all, for those of you who have taken the course, can the assignments be done using R instead of Octave?

    April 24, 2013

    • Bill

Ronald, I think you must submit your code and it is run automatically by a script to be validated, so it has to be Octave.

    • RONALD K.

Thanks Bill. The reason I asked is I know how to program in R and don't want to learn Octave if possible.

Anyone interested in forming a study group - Sunnyvale side?

Sunnyvale library works for me. Amit, do you know if the library allows such meetups?

Looks like there is enough interest in Sunnyvale study group. I might have to drop out of the course though as it is clashing with some travel plans.

Are there any veterans of this study group (from previous offerings of Ng's course) who would like to form a group to explore more-advanced ML topics? If there is interest, perhaps we could form a new meetup ...

    • Edward B.

Not a veteran either, but I'd be interested

Yes! I took the course last year, and dutifully did Octave programming assignments. I am now interested in working on some bigger projects, using industrial-strength data analytics tools :-)
