Global Sensitivity Analysis

Global sensitivity analysis is a recent branch of statistics concerned with finding out which of the many parameters affect the output of a model the most. It can be used for simplifying models by removing unimportant parameters, for reducing uncertainty risks, for decomposing models into simpler parts, etc. In this talk Eugene will introduce the main ideas and methods of global sensitivity analysis, some of which are remarkably beautiful and universal, and discuss possible applications and related unsolved questions.

Group sampling is key Compressive Sensing. Pooling of blood samples during WWII was one of the first I am aware of.

Does anyone know how bad the southbound traffic on 101 is before the meeting? Not sure how early to leave for getting here on time.

It can be pretty bad around rush hour, especially if there's roadwork.
