StreetSide Stories: Folder Making Party

Parking Info: There are a few parking spots, about 4 or 5, available in their parking lot. So its first come first serve basis. The parking lot is fenced so give me call on my cell and I'll get it open for you. My Number :[masked]

Lets spend some time making creative folders for StreetSide after which we can gather for some coffee.

What is Streetside Stories?

Through the power of storytelling, Streetside Stories cultivates young people's voices to develop literacy and arts skills, fosters educational equity, values diversity, and builds community.

Their Reach:

Streetside has helped over 16,000 students engage with learning by sharing their life stories.  We offer high-quality literacy arts education programs to students in kindergarten through the 8th grade in schools, after school programs, and community-based organizations throughout San Francisco and the East Bay. While Streetside services are available to a wide array of schools and community organizations, we focus our resources on reaching underserved young people who attend struggling schools

How can we help?

In all of their storytelling or media arts programs, Streetside provides students folders that they use in day-to-day exercises, or writing/illustrating their stories. In folder making parties, you draw on the inner-artist of our volunteers to make creative paper and compile the folders. Here are some cool designs! Looks like loads of fun for a good cause, but I was accidentally RSVPed for this event. If I didn't have two small children, I'd be there for sure. Have fun!

Hope it's ok to bring a friend! Is it bad to bring 2 extra friends if I only RSVP for +1? My other friend is a tentative yes and might not be able to decide until day of

You can update your RSVP now to 2. We keep a limit only to give a chance to everyone. But also please make sure you can update it a few days before the event, if you know that your friend can't make it :)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
