Come join us for a Sunday morning hike of Castle Rock! Along the crest of the Santa Cruz Mountains, Castle Rock State Park embraces coast redwood, Douglas-fir, and madrone forest, most of which has been left in its wild, natural state. Steep canyons are sprinkled with unusual rock formations that are popular with rock climbers. The forest here is lush and mossy, with miles of crisscrossed trails.
Take this popular but classic hike with your fellow volunteers and get to know them on a social level and also take in some of our area's beautiful scenery. We will also be picking up trash along the trails while we hike and we will be collecting pop-top canned food to donate to the hungry. Please give Jeff or I the food before or after the hike. Some of us may decide to grab lunch as a group somewhere in the area afterwards.
The park is located on Highway 35, just 2 1/2 miles southeast of the junction with Highway 9. Latitude / Longitude: 37.2317 / -122.1158
