Welcome to our 4th annual 24 hour service weekend! This year, it will be on Sept 14th and 15th and we will also commemorate the national service day (9/11) through these events. You are welcome to signup for just one or more shifts depending on your availability.
This is shift 5. This shift runs from 9 AM to around 1 PM.
Come join us for a Sunday morning hike to the top of Mission Peak in Fremont! It is 5.6 miles out and back. We will be hiking up to a peak, it can be a toughie, but it is manageable and hikers of all abilities can make it! We will be taking plenty of breaks!
We will be collecting pop-top canned food to donate to the hungry.
What to bring:
-good hiking shoes and socks
-dress to handle the weather, especially the heat
-canned food w/ pop-top openings if you'd like to donate to the hungry
-leave valuables & pets at home
-great attitude and prepare to have fun
To get there, take Interstate 680 or 880 to Fremont. Take the Mission Boulevard exit (from either freeway) and head North towards the hills. After Mission curves around parallel to the hills, you’ll turn right onto Stanford Avenue.
The street ends at a small staging area with parking and restrooms, as well as a billboard with trail information. The parking lot is rather small, please consider parking on the streets before reaching the staging area.
