Neighborhood planting with "Our City Forest" in San Jose - Burnett Middle School

"Our City Forest" is an urban forestry non-profit that strives to make the city of San Jose a greener place by planting trees and involving community members. They have an event coming up on December 14-Thd (Sat) and they need help. This event is a neighborhood planting from 9 am until 12 pm. We will be planting 4 fruit trees and over 100 native shrubs at Burnett Middle School. If you would like to volunteer, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Bring water, snacks, sun protection and clothes you can get dirty! Closed toed shoes are required. Arrive by 9:00am to watch the planting demonstration and help set up.

Youth ages 14-17 need to have either a signed permission slip from their parent/guardian (Our City Forest can email it to you) OR have their parent/guardian sign them in at the event.

You can find out more about the organization at

Feel free to contact Nick for any info or to find Nick on the day of the event.

What a great time! Students along side of teachers, along side of volunteers working to enhance the greenery & fruit-bearing nature at a middle school that values the impact their students will have on the future of the world along side of curriculum-based performance evaluations. Thanks to all of the kind, caring individuals who attended & helped plan(t) this event. :)

Nice! Another OCF tree planting near my neighborhood, and a few friendly volunteers. Last OCF planting was well organized helpful fun. :)
