Garden for Wildlife Month at the Palo Alto Baylands

In partnership with the City of Palo Alto Baylands Nature Preserve and Save the Bay.

May is Garden for Wildlife Month, an activity we love at Save The Bay. Endangered species such as the California clapper rail and the salt marsh harvest mouse use tidal marsh plants as refuge from predators. After planting native marsh plants all winter, spring is the time to water and remove invasive weeds to help them thrive. With your help, we can garden for wildlife and provide habitat to San Francisco Bay species!

No experience necessary. Gloves, tools and instruction provided. Each event is led by Save The Bay staff certified in first aid and CPR.

Note: By RSVP’ing to this event, you are agreeing to Silicon Valley Volunteers’ waiver policy. Please go to your profile page and say “YES” to the waiver policy after going through it if you had not done so already. Click on “My Profile” at the top right-hand corner to go to your profile and then click “Edit Profile” to agree to the waiver.

Here is the email I received regarding location: Directions to Palo Alto Baylands, Byxbee Park We must leave the small parking lot near our site available for Baylands Recreational users. Therefore please park along Embarcadero Rd across from the city dump. (See map link below) We encourage large groups to meet at the overflow parking lot beyond the ranger station after the duck pond when you turn left at embarcadero rd. to put as many people into one car as possible before driving over to the site parking. (See map link below).Thank you very much for helping us maintain the positive relationship between Save The Bay and our site partners.

Hi all! This project has been posted for awhile, so I just wanted to politely remind everyone if any changes have happened (or will happen) to your plans and you are no longer able to attend, kindly update your RSVPs to allow those on the wait list to bump themselves up. Thank you! I should be contacted within the next week about our exact meeting location. This is going to be AWESOME!
