Tree Planting with Our City Forest - Taylor & 20th

Ever planted a tree?  Think you have what it takes?  Plant a tree with your loved ones and let it symbolize the bond you share.  You also help give life back to Earth by supporting the social, communal, environmental benefits of trees.

This Saturday June 28th we will be supporting Our City Forest (OCF), an urban forestry non-profit that strives to make the city of San Jose a greener place.  We will meet at N 20th St in San Jose at 8:00am.

We will be planting 9 trees with OCF Tree Amigos and other volunteer groups.  Each person will be working in teams of two to four.

Bring water, snacks, sun protection and clothes you can get dirty.  Closed toed shoes are required.  Arrive by 8:00am to watch the planting demonstration and help set up.  We will finish by 11:00am.

We understand situations may arise.  If you are no longer able to attend, please change your RSVP status EARLY (preferably 48 hours in advance)  so that people on the waiting list can be notified in time to take your spot.  Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.  If you are interested in attending but the RSVP has been closed, please contact OCF to check for availability.  The RSVP will help OCF and SVV manage the headcount.  We can be reached at [masked].

Thank you,

Silicon Valley Volunteers

Took about 10 minutes to find the tree planting group but it was a lot of fun.

The permission is waived if you are coming with your child and staying for the planting event. If that is the case, you won't have to sign anything.

Just want to add that while Our City Forest allows kids aged 14-17 to participate in tree plantings (accompanied by their parent/guardian or with a permission slip), Silicon Valley Volunteers does not. For liability reasons, SVV events are only for folks aged 18-and-up. So if your child wants to tag along, please sign up at the event directly (instead of RSVP'ing here). Thanks!
