Operation Portable Storefront

At PayPal, we live and breathe payments every day. We see a lot of great payment ideas, but we don't have the bandwidth to build them alland we want to share them with you. That's why we are piloting a new program, Operation Portable Storefront - to empower our developer community to build and succeed with these many ideas. that we don't have the time to create. In Operation Portable Storefront, we are starting with an experimental concept that we released nearly 2 years ago called the Portable Storefront. We now want to open it up and extend it to the developer community to reinvent this to the next level.
What is PayPal's Portable Storefront? | Why you can take this product to the next level | How we'll support your solution

How we'll support your solution

If you build an application designed to replace our Portable Storefront, PayPal will commit to adding your application to a solutions page dedicated to these applications.

The solutions page will target casual, technically unsophisticated sellers who own simple blogs and website. Those sellers will be able to browse, rate, and review applications and decide which to use. To qualify to be in this solutions directory, your application must:

* Be designed to help merchants sell their products
* Be embeddable on a web page or blog
* Must use PayPal as the only payment method
* Must include payment tracking information (details will be provided after you contact us for submission)
* Must include PayPal web analytics tags on the home page dedicated to your application (details will be provided after you contact us for submission)

This solutions directory will launch on Wednesday, September 15, 2010. We will also be giving a limited number of marketing grants of up to $5,000 USD each application owner to help you be successful. You can apply for one of these grants by submitting your marketing proposal to us. Please note that marketing efforts from these grants will be required to direct traffic to the Portable Storefront solutions directory. However when you drive traffic to the directory, your application will be featured on top. Your proposal must specify how you intend to drive customer acquisition, what your target audience is, what your expected cost per acquired customer is, and what your total funding request is (up to $5,000).
