Speaker Bio:

Christopher Peri, Book Author & CTO at Venture Beat
Session: Twitter Platform

Dr. Christopher Peri received his Doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley, in Architecture. His focus was on Collaboration in Virtual Environments delving into methods that facilitate designers and engineers to improve communication over remote networks.

He started playing with the Twitter API very early in the API release, creating his own Twitter client called TwittFilter, which is geared more to the occasional user then someone who uses Twitter all the time. As time went on, he added more and more features and functions for his own personal use, until one day he realized he had a fairly sophisticated application and opened it up to the general public to use. He learned quite a bit about the Twitter API the hard way—by simply coding things up and seeing what happens. Although TwittFilter is still a personal project, he has already created a number of private Twitter applications, robots, and smaller projects like NewsSnacker.com, which is open to the public although currently being rewritten for 1.1

Brinda Mehta, UX Designer & Product Manager at Netflix
Session: User Experience Design Process

Brinda Mehta Malvi architects user experiences. Previously she architected large urban spaces and planned cities after studying architecture and planning at UC Berkeley. She transitioned her career when she started up a company focused on making an application to help people plan and design their homes on the web. In crafting the product Brinda made the realization that patterns in architectures extend over into both physical and digital realms. Since then she has enjoyed the instant gratification of digital design.Brinda is an evangelist for collaborative design processes and  design best practices and principles across bay area startups and companies small and large (eBay, PayPal, eTrade & Netflix). Currently Brinda, designs user experiences and manages products (where necessary) at Netflix.  In her spare time, Brinda enjoys competing in hackathons and recently won the best design award at iOSDevCamp 2013.
