London Crowdfunders Meetup - Investors and Startups

This meetup is specifically for investors looking for crowd funding opportunities and entrepreneurs who wish to network with investors for their startups.

The meetup is expected to be held monthly with first meetup scheduled for 7th January 2013.

Any technology start-ups that wish to practice their pitch are welcome to contact us with their idea. Each selected start-up would get about 2 minutes to pitch and 3 minutes for answering questions. Only tech start-ups that are currently listed on one of the crowdfunding sites are eligible. We would try to accommodate the first ten start-ups on first come first served basis.

If you are a startup and wish to take up a speaking slot please send us the link to your listing at [masked].

Rest of the time would be available for start-ups and investors to mingle and network with each other.

Please remember this is a targeted meetup with the focus solely on crowd funding.

The original group that is hosting this event is known as London Crowdfunders on meetup and the group link is: http://www.meetup.com/crowdfunders-london/

The first meetup was certainly a experience to build upon.

Both good and bad feedback is useful in tailoring for a strong crowd funding pitch. Not all facets are as cleanly polished and this meet up should not only reflect what is clear and successful, but also what is not so clear and what needs refinement.

This meetup should certainly provide a learning ground in an environment supported by like minds investors and entrepreneurs.

I would suggest a 5:5 format in that 5 slides and 5 minutes (1min per slide) or something to that effect..... Followed by Q&A....This would allow for each individual/team to present a sharp pitch and if interest or further Q,s this can be done after during network I look forward to the next meetup!

Hi All, Thank you for attending this event. It was the first meetup and we have received some good feedback and negative feedback from a few people too, especially the length of the sponsor pitch. This is good as it helps us improve the format for next event. Great turnout (75+) considering it was the first meetup, and from here it can only grow and improve. Good to have 7 pitches from start-ups. Please join London Crowdfunders group for emails and updates related to this group in future.

Hello, very honestly, your pitch was not only far too long... it was really bad, sorry to insist. I advise you to read the book Insanely Simple, it will teach you the basic principles of simplicity. Focus !

met some useful people, bu the keynote went ON AND ON and became a sales pitch to the assembled guests. Also... no food or drink!!!

the keynote was a bunch of nonsense... never seen such a bad pitch before. I kindly advise this guy to switch back to consulting...

It was supposed to be 5 minutes; I went to the toilet, out to the pub, had a pint, then a smoke and only just finished a minute after I got back...

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
