I'm moving to London this summer after I get my MBA and am interested in tech startups. I'm a strong proponent of the Lean Startup, Customer Development and Business Model Generation strategies. I have a bit of a development background as well.

Thanks Robert. I'm actually very happy to have stumbled across this group. I've only just recently started learning iPhone development (bought my first Mac to do it), but I've been programming for years (I started writing games as a kid in the early 80's, and even sold some for a few bucks). I see mobile app development (and the app distribution platform) as a huge opportunity for independent developers. Finding people around here with similar interests is really exciting.
Barb and I are pretty busy this week but next week would probably work out for getting together. I'll give you a holler early next week. Thanks...Doug ([masked])
Hi Robert - was thinking that the big side room at The Vierling might work well. It's usually quiet in there, lots of tables, and they can bring us pretty good beer when we want it. We're buds with the owners and they'd be cool with it.
Saw that you liked Dave's idea on app development. DC ACM is putting on a seminar on iPhone/Android mobile application for beginners/exper
ienced developers on Nov 20-21. Some of the topics that will be covered are:
* Languages Objective C
* Framework (Cocoa Touch) MVC
* Toolkit
* Xcode
* Simulator

You will be able to produce 2-3 basic apps by the end of this course.
Robert, you should consider participating in our 8/24 Technology Round Table discussion at Busboy & Poets. We have a lot of iPhone App developers in the group.
