Join us for our third SVVR event featuring Walter Greenleaf, Matterport, Cymatic Bruce, and more.
Walter Greenleaf, Ph.D. is an early pioneer in the medical application of virtual environment technology, and is viewed as one of the founders of the field. His focus has been on the use of virtual reality and telemedicine technology to treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), addictions, Autism, and other difficult problems in behavioral medicine.
Oliver Kreylos is a researcher with the UC Davis W.M. Keck Center for Active Visualization in the Earth Sciences. Oliver has been developing hardware and software systems and methods for scientific visualization in holographic displays since 1998. His main interests are development of software infrastructure to support highly interactive and scalable applications, development of scientific visualization applications, low-cost display systems based on commodity technology, and remote collaboration / telepresence.
Matterport's camera allows users to quickly and automatically turn physical spaces into 3D models. Matterport will demonstrate how they are integrating the Oculus Rift with their 3D interior mapping system.
VRSDIR - Steven Dadouche will demonstrate their real-time spatial audio engine, and present on the challenges of simulating realistic audio for the Oculus Rift.
Anomee - Tyler Doshier will speak briefly about VR user experience design as it relates to the development of Anomee Home, a forthcoming VR "home world" and app launcher.
Sixense will be making an announcement exclusive to the Silicon Valley VR Meetup! Their lead developer will be on hand to demo some new software and provide hands-on time.
Doors open at 6:30PM. Presentations will start at 7:00PM, followed by open demo time until 10:00PM.
If you have an Oculus Rift or any other interesting VR hardware or software, please consider bringing it along for the demo portion of the event. You are welcome to show off your own projects or share your favorite demos or applications.
We anticipate another full house, so RSVP early to ensure your spot!
