Your Head of Silly Antics Coordinator Presents...
"The Flying Frog" 10K/5K Charity Event - Run or Volunteer!
Through another meetup "Giving Matters", that I also organize, we are volunteering to help out one of our volunteer members, Rachel Hodas, who has created and put together a charity race dedicated to the awareness of blood cancer. She needs volunteers to help her during the day of the charity race.
Volunteer Opportunities will consist of (but are not limited to) the following:
- Helping set up the race trail
- Registering runners
- Giving out information/directions
- Providing water
- Setting up picnic/recognition area
- Cleaning up
The mission of the The Flying Frog charity is two-fold:
1) raise funds for blood cancer research, and
2) build a support community (offline and online) for the friends and family of cancer patients.
Also, if you want to run instead, and contribute to the charity that way you are most welcomed! Please click on the link below to register for the race!
Meet time for volunteering is at 8am. If you are running, check in at 9am, race starts at 10am.
You can read more about "The Flying Frog" and its mission on its home page: http://www.theflyingfrog.org/ff-10k5k.html
For information, the agenda for the race is as follows:
- 9.00- Check-in
- 10.00- 10K/5k starts
- 12.00- Picnic and Recognition
Hope to see you there!
