Screening of "All Over The Guy"

  • Bill's condo

"All Over The Guy" is a refreshingly different take on gay romantic comedies, focusing on issues of intimacy and finding ways to communicate. It's a shame it never received the major distribution it deserved.

It stars Richard Ruccolo (TV's "Two Guys & A Girl") and real-life gay screenwriter Dan Bucatinsky. Both leads are believable as they attempt to find meaning with their on-again, off-again relationship. Their heterosexual counterparts (Adam Goldberg & Sasha Alexander) are just as funny. The film seems to say that none of us can know what we're really looking for until we actually find it.

The dialogue is sharp and quick, in the way that close friends convey codes and gestures without a lot of extra narration. Some might compare this movie to an R-rated Will & Grace, but the big difference is that here, the characters are real and more dimensional than those you find in sitcoms.

Robb....see if you can change your RSVP to be just you. That will open up another space.........and if nobody takes it.........maybe I'll join you guys for dinner too. As soon as I changed my RSVP to "No" it opened up a space for Robert C. and he was automatically put on board. I'm just learning how this works myself. : ) See you Sunday!

Hi Bill--Someone just pointed out to me the invite for this sunday mentions $7-10 donation AND food, are we supposed to bring food in addtion to paying the donation or is it a choice of either/or? BTW--Glen Levine was my "+1", & he has RSVD'd, so just count me as one. Look forward to seeing everyone.

I changed my RSVP and that will allow Robert C. to attend. So, he can have my spot at the dinner table and get to know everyone.......and I will join you all for the movie at 7 p.m. I had somewhere that I wanted to stay longer and Robert C. wanted to join the group.......so it's a win/win situation for everyone! : ) See y'all at 7 p.m. for the movie!

Hey Bill. I just noticed that the time on the meetup is 7pm and in the description it mentions to arrive at 6pm. Wasn't sure if the 7pm was a mistake since all the other meetups have had a time of 6pm.
