Bizu Cabaret: Hollywood

A Handful of Marilyn, A Shot of Liza, A Dash of Circus: Vaudeville with a Sassy Twist.

From the website:

Be captivated by host Milo Miles and the ravishing Allie Ho Chee who orchestrate London’s freshest weekly frolic through cabaret and illusion in the heart of London’s West End at the world famous Madame Jojo’s.

Featuring Alternative Magician Dee Riley as a regular guest and acts that vary from Burlesque to Circus and Vaudeville. This much anticipated show nods to the heyday of New York’s The Stork Club.

You’ll never see exactly the same show twice or know what to expect, which will keep you coming back time and time again!

We'd meet at Phoenix first then walk over to Madame Jojo's together, as the doors don't open till 7pm.

My notes:

1. It's part burlesque, part cabaret, part circus, and the rest is up to their visiting guests.
2. The theme changes each month; this month's it's Hollywood.
3. We can have a corner of the "balcony", which will fit up to 8 photographers at the most, I think.
4. Recommended camera settings: ISO 4000, aperture 1.8 - 2.8, lens 50mm - 85mm.

Also, please note that this is not a workshop in performance photography.

Unfortunately they have changed my shifts at work and I won't be able to attend even if a space does free up :(

Apologies - we'd reached the RSVP limit for this event, so I've had to apply a waiting list.

Is there a charge to go in?

    April 12, 2014

    • Chantal G.

They are asking us to photograph for them, so as long as each person's photos are of usable quality, there is no charge.

Chantal, is there any stated, implied or expected quid pro quo that Bizu Cabaret would have rights to use photos taken by our group?

    April 8, 2014

    • Chantal G.

Oh absolutely (the latter) - they asked me last week for the unedited photos and I refused! :)

Will the box accommodate 8 including tripods Chantal?

    April 8, 2014

    • Chantal G.

Eight is about the most it will stretch to (8 picked this evening on Doodle), and there is space for tripods if people need them, as we'll be up against the railing.
