Zoo Lates Again!

Let's visit Zoo Lates again, and make the most of it while it's on!

Zoo Lates runs for a few weeks each summer, with a definitely out-of-hours party atmosphere: there are bars, performances, games and entertainment aplenty, with people wearing masks, animal outfits and facepainting. And best of all: the animals!

If 10 or more people sign (and pay) up, then we can benefit from a 50% discount, making the tickets only £14 each, instead of £28 each - and of course, there are the benefits of going as a group as it makes it a lot more fun!

Also, the animals are put to bed at 9pm, but the entertainment continues till 10pm.

These events are selling out quickly now, so please sign up and pay so that I can book for us; if the event has to be cancelled for any reason prior to booking tickets (eg, it's sold out), then a full refund will of course be issued.

Details from London Zoo's website:

London's wildest night out!

Flamboyant stilt-walkers, hilarious comedy, fantastic food from around the world, and the chance to see incredible wildlife after hours – it can only mean one thing: Zoo Lates is back at ZSL London Zoo.

Opening the doors every Friday night in June and July, plus a bonus night in August, ZSL London Zoo’s wildest event, Zoo Lates, is back for 2014.

Zoo Lates guests can enjoy acoustic music, laugh like a hyena at the improv-sets in The Comedy Den, shake their tail feathers at the Silent Dance Off, or take in the huge variety of performances at The Lates Show, as well as having a packed schedule of animal feeds and keeper talks to choose from.

A chance to see what London’s real party animals get up to, pygmy hippos Thug and Nicky will be enjoying the summer festivities in their brand new luxury pad, and guests might even spot one of the three Sumatran tiger cubs who will be staying up past their bedtime in their Tiger Territory home.

Providing the perfect venue to sit back and soak up the ambience of the night, the Bordeaux Jardin Du Vin bar will be serving up a specially-chosen selection of wines for Zoo Lates, and guests will have the chance to learn from wine educators at a fun Bordeaux Tasting in the Bordeaux Petit Château.

Human feeding time is of course a top priority and a lively international street food festival will take over the central hub of the Zoo, dishing up delicious, fast and fresh food from a huge variety of vendors.

Tiger Territory

Zoo Lates tickets also includes access to Tiger Territory. Delve deep into the lush foliage of the Indonesian jungle, as you get closer than ever before to one of nature’s most awesome predators, the Sumatran tiger.

Zoo Lates runs from 6-10pm and is an over 18s only event. No BYO glass or alcohol.

I hope everybody had a good time and didn't try to fight a penguin.

Okay - I'm inside now. Go into the beer garden then look for the door furthest away and I'm sitting right there as you go in.

      Sorry, where?

      July 18, 2014

As the tickets sold out before I could get one, and I'll be in a meeting anyway on Friday evening, Alasdair has kindly offered to meet Emma, Tom and Simon at the pub; he'll have the tickets, and he'll help you get to the zoo (Beverly will be making her own way there, but she'll keep her eyes peeled for the rest of the group). Please give the £3 fee to Alasdair when you get to the pub; he'll have the sign with the group's name on display, and also, a map to give you!

      Great! It'll be a wonderful experience :)

      July 10, 2014

  • Chantal G.

I've messaged all four of you with my bank details for paying the extra ticket cost, and with arrangements for the day - please do let me know if the email doesn't arrive.

    July 10, 2014

  • Chantal G.

Tickets booked - I didn't want to leave it till this evening! Because of the extra cost, I couldn't get a ticket for myself - ah well. I've set a waiting list on this now, in case any of you can't come - that way your ticket can be used by someone else, if need be.

    July 9, 2014

    • Tom

Hi Chantal, sorry I'm a bit confused. Are you not able to come yourself then? Also what exactly is the plan for meeting up for this and having tickets. If you are not there how would we get in?

      July 9, 2014

    • Chantal G.

If I can't come, then I'll delegate to Beverly, as she was with us last time. I'll be seeing her beforehand so I'll give her the tickets if I can't be there on the day. I'll message everyone now about paying the extra ticket cost.

      July 10, 2014

  • Tom

    Hi Chantal,

Do you know when you plan to book this? I am happy to pay the extra £3.50 if everyone else is. I'm just aware they are low on tickets!

    July 8, 2014

    • Chantal G.

Okay, Time Out and Londonist have run out of £17.50 tickets, but LoveTheatre still have some left, so I'll book this evening - if you're all up for £17.50 tickets?

      1 · July 9, 2014

    • Beverly B.

Go for it - do you have access to money we already paid through Pay Pal? And, how would you like the extra paid - cash?

      July 9, 2014

  • Chantal G.

Tickets are running low, but there are special offers for £17.50 each if we want to buy in smaller quantities. So we won't have to miss out just because we're not a large group!

    July 4, 2014

    • Chantal G.

I can refund you and call this one off if you like, or would you be interested in the one on 1 August?

      July 5, 2014

    • Tom

      £17.50 sounds good to me!

      July 7, 2014

  • Beverly B.

If we can't get enough peeps, I will go on the Aug 1st one (I just knew that I would be free for this one). I will want a map this time and have a mission to visit the giraffes! :-)

    July 5, 2014

    • Chantal G.

I think it will take us three visits just to cover the whole zoo - we'll barely scratch the surface if we leave it till August!

      July 5, 2014

    • Beverly B.

Great gulp - let's go anyway (but no pub for me) :-(

      July 7, 2014

I am new to digital photography, I need more practice
