"Tired of the bar scene? Does "Speed Dating" make you dizzy? Have you gone to the "singles dances" only to see people are more anxious to get on the buffet line. Well, done that.. have the t-shirt..and threw it out. As a "perpetual" single, I have come to the realization that finding that someone special on Long Island is often difficult at best. Myself and a few female friends have decided that we are all tired of the "usual" dating scene and want to improve the "quality of life" for singles over 45 or so on Long Island. What better time to start a "singles group" then near the holidays when being single is the toughest time of the year. Well, join us for "Simply Sundays" or "Not going to Stay at Home Saturdays" for interesting conversation, meet and greets and interesting (and rather unique) events and outings. For the record...I don't need or want to make $$$ on this... I feel that too many singles groups care about making money... So drop me a line...tell me what kinds of events that you are interested in (be creative.. let's do some interesting and even silly stuff). What better way to meet people than to meet them in an informal atmosphere... So let's start the Spring/Summer with "Simply Singles" if anything, at a minimum. you'll meet some new and exciting friends...."

September 17, 2011- Thank you Daniel, former organizer, for getting this group up, running, and building a solid membership base. Good luck with your move to Florida.
So now it is up to us to continue to offer singles the opportunity to enjoy Long Island (and, perhaps sometime in the future, even off Long Island) in the company of others. I have "stepped up" into the organizer role, but I truly cannot do this without the membership's help and support.
E-mail any ideas you may have, or put them up as suggestions.
Let's take advantage of the flexibility that single-hood offers. Let's get off those couches, out the door, and have some fun and enrich our lives. No promises about finding that "special" someone, but your chances will certainly improve, and the journey will be more enjoyable.
More to come as we get going. Thank you to all who attended our organizational meetup .
