We live in an overchemicalized society. We're paying a priceless price for it: our health.
Did you know they are reporting that 1 of 2 men (50%) and 1 of 3 (33.33%) women will get cancer in their lifetime?
Or what about the Center for Disease Control reporting that drug actions, adverse drug interactions (i.e., side effects), allergic reactions, etc. kills over 100,000 people a year, the 4th largest cause of death in the US?
Yes, it's true. But it is only true because we have become passive about maintaining or improving our health.
Are we helpless?NO! NO! NO!
One of our best defenses is our nutrition, keeping our immune system going strong. Our stomach or gastrointestinal system houses 80% of our immune system. You just thought it was a food processing center for energy? So, so wrong it is the key to vibrant quality of life and maintaining our health!
And it begins with consuming raw, whole foods, not the processed or "chemical" foods in the grocery store that all grocery stores sell.
This meetup group is designed to enrich your life with knowledge on eating raw and developing relationships with like-minded people.
We offer classes in organic gardening as well as how to prepare delicious and healthy raw food meals and snacks.
We can share with you about how tasty whole foods are and smart the lifestyle is but long term one is less likely to stay on the path unless they understand why.
In this group we will learn about nutrition, why raw, whole foods are better than processed foods, navigating the grocery store minefield, how certain foods promote certain actions of the body, what's the best way to prepare the foods from a health and convenience perspective, sharing recipes, non-cooking classes on food preparation, networking, how whole foods integrates with other areas in promoting optimum health and much more.
We won't just promote "wives tales". We will look at the research behind the scenes and causation.
The agenda here is discovering the truth and telling it straight, regardless how the chips fall.
After all, you will be the only one to live with the decisions you make and in your body. Or you might be the person who has to be a caretaker for a sick loved one.
We welcome you on this journey of learning together. New scientific studies are coming out all the time.
And with the rising food costs we share ways that you can still eat healthy, how to lower your grocery bill rate of escalation.
Whether you’re interested in eating raw, whole foods or wanting to learn more how it will improve your nutrition and well-being, this is your meetup group.
We welcome everyone from experienced raw foodists to those who are just beginning their journey to a healthier lifestyle.
We also welcome ideas for seminars and get-togethers from group members. Please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Looking forward to the community and sharing together.
