Singer's Salon

The Singer's Salon is an opportunity to sing for your peers and others, in a safe and nurturing setting. It is a place to refine your performance skills, try out new material, or just get more comfortable in front of an audience.

The Salon meets once a month and is a venue for singers to perform. It is NOT karaoke or group singing, although if people are interested in a group warmup, we could incorporate it! (Small ensembles are of course welcome!)  Both beginners and more experienced singers are welcome, and all genres are welcome.

We are currently at 3160-Chicago's Piano and Cabaret, a cool little cabaret space at 3160 N. Clark Street. They have an elevated section toward the back, with a stage, a gorgeous baby grand and little cafe tables. There is no cover charge for the Singer's Salon, but they have a two drink minimum. Naturally, this can be soft drinks or whatever if you don't want to imbibe. Please keep your feedback coming by the way. I always want to hear about your experience.

For those of you new to the Salon, I am a singer, voice teacher and performance coach. I host the event and usually get some help from Dave Lenef on guitar and our new pianist, Justin Bowse. They both do an awesome job!!!! They are on hand to either sightread your music or accompany you in whatever way works. So bring your sheet music, or chord charts if possible. The intention is for this to be a nurturing and supportive environment to try out new material or learn how to perform before an audience. I am offering low priced workshops on a regular basis to assist people at different levels to help prepare if they would like. I also offer a discount to folks who come to the Salon and would like to take lessons or coaching sessions to whip a song or two into shape!

The Singer's Spotlight is a new event we are hosting in the same space once a month, on the 4th Friday. This is an outgrowth of the Salon, and features usually two or three acts who are ready to do more. It is not an open mic like the Salon, however. If you are interested please let me know! We will do workshops to prepare for the performance, as well.

We are on Facebook! Click on the facebook link on the homepage and like us! There is a link to my blog there also where I write about the Salon! check it out! Here is a link to my new website...

Feel free to call or email me with questions. It would be great if people can rsvp as it is a small space. Also if you'd like to come and just watch (and/or bring your support people) that is great too!

Thanks and I look forward to hearing many new singers!

Great job to everyone who came out and made the Singer's Salon a beautiful night! There was alot of great music and even though it was a smaller crowd, (probably due to Mother's Day events) a good time was had by all!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
