This group is dedicated to the Single mothers of black boys, ages 6 to 10. In this day and age, it can be so hard raising a black male, especially as a single mom. The daily grind of working, homework, afterschool activities, dinner, baths and still managing to find "bonding" time with our boys without being completely drained, all in a day. That alone is stressful, and lets not forget... ME time! Where's the ME time?
I want to create a strong support system and develop friendships, while teaching our boys how to grow up into successful black men. Let's get together for affordable kid-friendly activities so our boys can hang out and do things in our neighborhood, going to storytime at the library, having picnics at Pullen Park, Marbles, movie outings, circus, play dates in our homes, and so much more.
We can also have events for just the ladies, like moms night-out, movies, dinner, wine tasting, pedicures, game nights… and anything else that looks like fun. I'm looking for other single mothers with the same need/desire to occasionally get out of the house in the evenings or on weekends and spend some of their "me time" with other smart, fun and down to earth women. We love our kids to pieces, but can appreciate some time to unwind!
If you have any suggestions for future events or would like us to plan something in your area, please feel free to post your idea. If you live in the Raleigh/Durham/Cary area..... Please, reach out!!
My only request is that if you RSVP "yes" you show up. Participation is key in making the group meet-ups a success!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
