Monrovia Canyon Falls 8/20/11
HIKING EVENT: Monrovia Canyon Falls. An easy 3.4 mile hike, 3 hour, 720 foot elevation hike in the San Gabriels. Scenic waterfall. Free.
DATE & TIME: Saturday, August 20, 2011. Meet at 7:15 AM at Faith Community Church parking lot, west side parking lot for (carpool) or 8:am at the trailhead.
LEVEL: Easy with several water crossings and very scenic.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS: From the 210 Foothill freeway, at Monrovia exit at Myrtle Avenue. Turn north (toward the mountains). Drive north on Myrtle through Old Town Monrovia one mile to Foothill Blvd. Turn right and go two lights to Canyon Blvd. Turn left, drive through residential area for about 0.7 mile to Scenic Dr. and follow Canyon Blvd as it curves to the right. In another 0.3 mile, turn right into Canyon Park at the three-foot tall monument sign. Go 0.6 to the park entry station. NOTE: $5 PARKING FEE of park on the street.
ESSENTIAL: Sturdy footwear, sun protection, layered clothing, water and food, money for gas or afterwards group treat, head covering.
OPTIONAL: Hiking stick, insect repellent.

Who We Are
Faith Adventure Hikers are a group of people who want fun, friendship, and adventure. We represent single, married, young and not so young hikers. Our main focus is exploring the San Gabriel Mountains and our hikes are easy to moderate. We are safety conscious and responsible. We protect each other and the environment. Membership is free. We are a hiking group of Faith Adventures, a special interest group from Faith Community Church in West Covina, California.
Participants Agree to Our Code of Conduct:
1. You participate at your own risk. Should be in good health.
2. You come prepared with the things you need.
3. In the event of a mishap, this group is not responsible.
4. You are responsible for your own actions and behaviors.
5. If carpooling, you reimburse the driver a reasonable amount.
6. You stay with the group at all times until the conclusion of the hike.
7. You understand that your photo may be posted on the web.
