  • Please meet at the Zebra Entrance to the Franklin Park Zoo. Ask for Ali Fioretti Volunteer Coordinator
  • Dream night is a special evening for chronically ill and disabled children to enjoy Franklin Park Zoo with their families free of charge.

Dream night guests have the opportunity to get a more intimate view of the Zoo than the average daytime visitors through zookeeper talks and animal encounters. The evening will also feature activities, costumed characters, food and fun.

Dream Night is a free night at the zoo for children with terminal illnesses and their families. Volunteers should be at Franklin Park Zoo at 4:30 and can expect to leave at 8:30pm. Volunteers are needed for passing out ice cream, scavenger hunt prizes, doing face paint and arts and crafts with the kids.

This event is open to all volunteers.  You do not need to be single to help.

What a disappointment. I just found out now (Sunday 7/20, 1pm), when looking at the event details to be sure I had the time and location right. I was really looking forward to participating at this event. One presumes that when an event is posted here, the Meetup organizer has communicated and coordinated with the host site's volunteer coordinators beforehand...

A direct email notification to all people that had signed up would also have been appreciated; I would have been able to make alternative weekend plans (e.g., I could have stayed longer in NH visiting family) had I been made aware in advance.

I'm sorry but we had to cancel. We found out the zoo had too many volunteers for the event.

May my 16 year old daughter participate?

I think 11 is a little to young. The zoo has a age limit of 16 for children. And they need a release signed by parent or guardian

      Hi Herb,
This one if you can't stay for the whole shift I would pass on this one. I heard from the Zoo that they have more than enough volunteers.

I wish I could do this! I won't be in town yet. I hope there are more chances to volunteer to benefit people with disabilities in the future!

Would love to help out with this but will be out of town. What an experience this should be!
