I have been divorced for 2 years, and I still struggle with a myriad of emotions.

Single Again meetings have presentations to show a way to a healthier emotional life, and peer support gives you a view of how to get there. I hope you can make a meeting in the near future.

I contend both parties are faced with their own individual decision to separate. The leaver must work up the resolve and the plan, while still in the relationship and the person who is left, may feel the separation has been foisted on them, however, once they realize reconciliation is an unlikely possibility, they must accept facts and embrace separation. That, or remain in a prolonged state of lament. Deciding to accept the fate of becoming single.. again, is a form of deciding to separate. Deciding to accept separation can bring some needed clarity and direction in a process rife with fog and aimlessness. It takes time. Just as it took time for the leaver to build their resolve and bring clarity to their plan to separate. At the group meeting, maybe we will learn more aspects of the decision to separate, and in that knowledge, find a path to peace and progress.
