For years, we may have defined ourselves as a married person, a person in a traditional family. When we became separated and/or divorced, that changed. We started defining ourselves as Single Again. Other identities we have -- have changed, but not as much. Parent, Child, Sibling, Friend, co-Worker. These roles did change in response to our becoming Single Again, just not as much as the Marital Status identity has changed. Once the grief has been met and we start to feel a reasonable amount of control return to our lives, how will we define ourselves? What should we aim for? If not Single Again, just Single? Or is there a more encompassing identity. Person. Well-Adjusted, Contributing, Functional, Vibrant, Loving and Loveable come to mind. Come to the meeting and see how we might get there.

I will DEFINITELY show up tomorrow. It will be my 1st meeting and I must be honest in that Im kinda nervous. BUT I cannot keep isolating. I need to meet people and make new friends. Ending a 24 year marriage still hurts even though its been over a year since I left him. Excited to meet my "new" comrades!!!
