I checked in the history of my blurbs to see if I had written one for acupuncture. I didn't find one. I did, however, find this gem from July 29, 2009, Diane Lichtenberger posted, "A pun just for tonight's meeting: Acupuncture: A jab well done."
Then, I Googled and found some other things: A research team from Anhui University of Chinese Medicine in China conducted a study on rats to verify acupuncture protects brain neurons against injury with heroin relapse.
I also found some things that our group may relate to better: Some studies have indicated that acupuncture may help in treating low back pain, fibromyalgia, migraines, post-operative dental pain, hypertension and osteoarthritis, as well as chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. Other studies have shown that acupuncture may help women with painful periods. A Cochrane trial found that although acupuncture helps people with headaches, fake acupuncture also seems to help them. If these benefits interest you, attend the meeting and see what you think.
