Fundraiser: Singles Night Ski & Apres Ski Social at Camp Fortune

** We need you to help us prove a point that singles want more events like this to companies like Camp Fortune.  Weather forecast shows diminishing snowfall, perfect for skiing / snowboarding, although we are concerned some will stay home. It's up to us to prove singles want events like this. **

Help the Ottawa Mission for the Homeless. Join Camp Fortune's single members for a Singles Social Ski Night to ski, snowboard, win prizes, and join our special après ski social to raise funds for a homeless shelter that does great work.

Play the Chairlift Dating Game
7 pm to 9:40 pm
Get into the singles express line and meet new singles, when you play our Chairlift Dating Game.  Each participant is given a brightly coloured lift ticket for a special singles express line to ride up in pairs.  Going up, compare your playing cards given earlier. If yours matches theirs, you win a prize at the après ski social. It’s simply the best way to meet other singles who share your love of skiing or snowboarding.

Join our Apres Ski Social
9:45 pm to 11 pm
Join other singles in the Main Lodge, near the bar, as we give out prizes, claim your free beer, mingle, and share refreshments.  Bid on a silent auction for the homeless to help raise funds. Learn about coming singles events at Funabalu.com and how to social network with other outdoors enthusiasts who happen to be single too.

Win an Aerial Date
During and after Apres Ski
Unlike speed dating, Aerial Dating is more physically challenging and exciting.  Everyone interested in going on an Aerial Park Date at Camp Fortune are encouraged to record the registration number of the participant(s) who they are interested in going with, as displayed on their name tag at the après ski social.  We will contact that person for you to confirm mutual interest. If there is a match, we will provide you a 2 for 1 admission for our Aerial Park, which is a great reason to date or at least try out the Aerial Park!

Registration Fee $30 - includes lift ticket (regular $39), Apres-ski social, and free food and a chance to win prizes. ($5 of this is donated to a local shelter.) OR $20 if you already have a lift ticket / lift pass.

Fundraising: $5 from each ticket will go to a local shelter for the homeless, along with proceeds from a silent auction.

Gah! I SO wanted to go last night but had to work late. The snowfall was just breathtaking! Slopes must have been a sweet slice of heaven!

Hey all cool here, John! Hard to know the ironic contextual intention of selected images. I am all for a fresh balance and the novel in ironic irreverence and bucking political correctness - its actually a pass time for me in this uptight world. Now seeing a man "take to the ski pole" would be most novel. ;)

Thanks to Janna, Adam, Luc, Sean, Rob, and Michael for coming out last night. Unfortunately, we didn't get any female skiers again.

Would love to go with all this snow but I can't. On another note, regarding the image above. I have skied on this planet for awhile now and I am tired of images that depict scantily clad women with fully clothed men. Its old for all kinds of reasons....

    Enjoy your night!

This image was from the failed 1965 movie Ski Party and fits with our current post-political correct age of irony. It was used to poke fun at a particular concept of Apres Ski from the past and garnered many smiles from those who saw it at our Ottawa Outdoor Show booth last weekend, who seemed to tap into our intent. It also fits with Funabalu's sense of humour, such as at our chalet weekend last year, when we were entertained by Sophie performing her own pole dance. She was fully clothed and used a ski pole instead. Next time, I'd loved to use a politically correct image from the 80s with a woman wearing big shoulder pads. :)

However, if we did use an image of a woman wearing big shoulder pads, it wouldn't mean to encourage that form of attire either.
