Oscar Nominated Documentary Shorts

UPDATE:

We will be attending the 7:20 show.  Let's meet at 6:45 near the box office and go into the theater around 7 pm so we can get good seats.  I will be wearing a black leather jacket.

My plan is to go out afterwards to discuss the films.

2014 OSCAR NOMINATED DOC SHORTS: PROGRAM A

One of two programs of Oscar-nominated documentary shorts!

The 2014 Oscar-nominated Documentary Short Films are being presented this year in two separate programs. Program A features three of the nominated films:

The Lady in Number 6: 109 year old Alice Herz Sommer, the world's oldest pianist and Holocaust survivor, shares her story on how to achieve a long and happy life.

Karama Has No Walls: Set amidst Yemen's 2011 uprising, the film illustrates the nature of the Yemeni revolution in stark contrast to the gross violations of human rights that took place on Friday, March 18th 2011.

Facing Fear: The worlds of a former neo-Nazi and the gay victim of his senseless hate crime attack collide by chance 25 years after the incident that dramatically shaped both of their lives.

I enjoyed the documentaries a lot, but unfortunately missed the discussion afterwards. I went to the restroom and when i got out, everyone was gone already :(

I thoroughly enjoyed the documentaries and the restaurant conversations we had afterward. It was a great time.
