Close to Dupont Circle, visitors of The Phillips Collection can enjoy the work of modern artists, including Renoir, Rothko, Bonnard, O'Keeffee, van Gogh and Diebenkorn.
The first Thursday of each month, The Phillips Collection hosts a "Phillips after 5" event.
On Thursday, May 1, the museum is hosting The Rise and Fall of Prohibition: the American '20s. Attendees will "party like it's Prohibition during the American 20s, sample bootleg-inspired food & drink, and complete a museum-wide scavenger hunt to reveal a password and gain access to a secret speakeasy."
Admission is $12.00. Admission also includes the chance to roam in exhibits such as Made in the U.S.A.: American Masters 1850-1970.
The museum's website strongly encourages advance registration.
I will email the people signed up for this Meet-up event on May 1 to provide them with my cell phone number. My cell can be texted.
