Phillips after 5: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition

Close to Dupont Circle, visitors of The Phillips Collection can enjoy the work of modern artists, including Renoir, Rothko, Bonnard, O'Keeffee, van Gogh and Diebenkorn.

The first Thursday of each month, The Phillips Collection hosts a "Phillips after 5" event.

On Thursday, May 1, the museum is hosting The Rise and Fall of Prohibition: the American '20s. Attendees will "party like it's Prohibition during the American 20s, sample bootleg-inspired food & drink, and complete a museum-wide scavenger hunt to reveal a password and gain access to a secret speakeasy."

Admission is $12.00. Admission also includes the chance to roam in exhibits such as Made in the U.S.A.: American Masters 1850-1970

The museum's website strongly encourages advance registration.

I will email the people signed up for this Meet-up event on May 1 to provide them with my cell phone number. My cell can be texted.

The music was good, and so were the refreshments. Sorry I arrive late; I get off work at 5:00.

In case knowing this makes it easier to spot me, I asked my stylist to give me hair like Carey Lowell. It is short.

if anyone happens to have an extra ticket, or open to picking one up for me (online closed at 4:00 & only 8 tickets are still available at the door) I leave my office at 5:30 - would arrive by 6. If not, I'll be at the a near-future gathering. thank you!

I don't understand your question. This will be my first time going to the Phillips after 5:00 event. It is a discovery for all of us.

The Phillps after 5 event could be packed, especially if all the members of the Singles Pop-up 40 and Up Meet-up show. To help us find each other, I am bringing small, rectangular stickers in fluorescent green, pink, orange and yellow. They are no bigger than a dime. Look for me and I will give you one to wear as a nametag. When you see someone with a florescent rectangle, please introduce yourself. I cut my hair short this week so I do not look like my profile picture. I will be wearing grey slacks and a pink, loose-fitting sweater. I will have a Meet-up nametag. I will not be able to email all of you with my cell phone number. Sorry.

I mistakenly bought 2 tickets, so I have an extra one if anyone would like to buy for cost ($12.00).
