American Modernism @ National Gallery & After Party @ Poste Moderne Brasserie

Discover American Modernism at the National Gallery of Art East Building and enjoy Post Modern Dining at our After Party in Penn Quarter! We will meet near the information desk in the lobby of the modern East Building. (There is one entrance, on 4th Street.) We will tour "American Modernism: The Shein Collection." I will have some prepared commentary on the exhibition. Afterward, there will be free time to independently explore other displays in the East Building, including "In the Tower: Mark Rothko," for those among us who enjoy black on black paintings! We will reconvene in the lobby at about 5 PM and walk together (10-15 minutes) to Poste Moderne Brasserie, located at 555 8th Street, NW (between E and F Streets), where we will eat, drink, and socialize.

The art tour was quite enjoyable. Hats off to Jeryl for leading it.

Another excellent Jeryl production. While small, the exhibit offered an informative view on this transitional, but important Zeitgeist.

Jeryl, as always, did a fine job of educating us on the works of Man Ray, Georgia O'Kiefe, and other modern artists. However, I decided that dinner at the Brasserie was too costly, and the wait at the bar far too long.

Jeryl really knew a lot about the paintings and shared that info with us. She also picked a lovely restaurant where I had appetizers and a drink with a few peoiple. Loved it! Thanks, Jeryl!

Credit to the organizer for a good tour. The after party place could have been better..expensive and not convenient for groups to converge and talk.

Jeryl did a great job! A very enjoyable outing. The servers at Poste Moderne Brasserie were rather aloof!

Jeryl was terrific as ever. She did her research on the paintings in the showing, which made the era in American painting more understandable.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
