Soirée @ US Botanic Garden Conservatory w/Live Gypsy Jazz by Hot Club of DC

"Golden Passion" in the Garden Court

The US Botanic Garden marks the winter solstice with Season's Greenings. The Conservatory will be open from 6 to 8 PM and feature music by Gypsy Jazz Band, Hot Club of DC. Enjoy the live soundtrack while you wander about the special exhibition of poinsettias, garlands, ornaments, and miniature trains and buildings created from plant materials.

The closest Metro stop is Federal Center SW (not to be confused with Federal Triangle!) on the Orange & Blue Lines, located at 3rd and D Streets, SW. I will not meet you at the Metro. Walk north on 3rd Street (past C Street, SW and Independence Avenue). Turn right on Maryland Avenue, SW and proceed to the US Botanic Garden Conservatory building. Beginning at 6 PM, I will be in the Garden Court, near the entrance, greeting guests.

I will give each of you a Glow Stick. The glow stick will identify you as a Singles Soirées member. When you see someone interesting who is wearing a glow stick, go up and introduce yourself to that person! Feel free to flirt!

At 6:45 PM, I will return to the Garden Court and welcome any latecomers. At 7:30 PM, we will reconvene as a group and walk over to the Art Bar @ Art & Soul (in the Liaison Hotel), 415 New Jersey Avenue, NW, Washington, DC for drinks and light dinner fare.

Hot Club of DC is an acoustic quartet of violin, guitars, and bass, playing Gypsy Jazz & Swing in the style of Django Reinhardt. To learn more, go to HCOFDC.COM.

The Botanic Garden would certainly make some money by selling hot cocoa, chocolate, wine and cheese! But great music in a good location.

Yea, Jeryl for pulling it together- the light wands were a great idea. I hope to make a contribution there!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
