Weekly Mix & Mingle @ The Wine Bistro on Lane Avenue

Join us at one of our favorite venues, with one (well, maybe 2 or 3) of our favorite drinks (wine of course) as we move farther away from Winter and towards warmer days ahead. OK, yes I am getting a little ahead since this is still mid-February, but I try to be a “Glass Half-Full” kinda’ guy. Play along with me please.

We will be Mixing & Mingling at the Wine Bistro on West Lane Avenue as we gather ‘round their very large “Gathering Table”. Many of you have enjoyed our prior Mingles here. A great time is always had by all, and many new friends are made. What an inviting venue!

Join us from 5:30 to 6:45’ish for our Trademark “On our feet Mix & Mingle” while we make new friends and visit with “old” ones (figure of speech…no reference to chronological age :-). Then at about 7’ish we will pull the stools up to their Ji-normace (got that term from my kids many years ago. Wonder what they would say now….just pondering) “Gathering Table” to sit down (yea!) and enjoy dinner; and of course more deep conversation and another drink :-).

Stop by on your way home from work, and prepare to meet a bunch of other folks who are interested in making and visiting with new friends in an informal setting. Join us and still be home in time to let the pooch out – or get a cat and stay out later :-).

As always, feel free to drop in even if you didn’t remember to RSVP. We’d love to see you! (an RSVP is appreciated though, if possible, and very helpful in scheduling.) And please follow our group’s code of conduct by tipping our servers generously. This is why we get invited back to such fine establishments as The Wine Bistro.

WingWomen & WingMen: Always welcome at our events. Bring them along to introduce them to our group. And if you are a new hesitant member, bring them along to give you the courage to finally join us. You won’t need them after you meet us for the first time. We aren’t scary…just fun!

As always, I will have a big hug waiting for you….yes, even for you guys. “Not that there’s anything wrong with that!” (Seinfeld).

See you soon.

I had a great time with ya'll! Sorry I had to bolt before dinner. Hunter needed to be picked up at daycare which closed at 8:00. I got there 5 minutes before close! Whew!

We enjoyed your company even though it was short. Did you take Hunter to the park for a walk after picking him up?

I agree with both of you. It is a great place for intimate conversations but for those who wanted to converse with ppl sitting across from them during dinner - hand signals would only work.
also, I got there late and was basically stuck in one spot all night. I prefer moving around more during the happy hour portion.

The Wine Bistros are always popular venues with our group. Everyone who I asked said they were enjoying their wines, appetizers, and then their dinners. Oh, and of course the great conversations! My only complaint about the Lane Avenue location is that huge “Gathering Table”. Most of you know how I feel about keeping everyone on their feet in order to move around the room to mix & mingle. The table takes up far too much space. ('Nuff said.) (who can tell me where that line came from?)

and I feel the opposite...that large gathering table encourages movement while standing for the social hour. Then, landing for dinner near the friends you want to have more intimate conversation with ;)

Hey Steve, I'm not a wine drinker. Do they have beer or rum?

Jim, you are fine...(from their "About Us" page)
Newcomers to wine tasting are welcome. Our servers are trained to explain our wine flights and provide recommendations for menu pairings. A rotating selection of craft beers – for tasting and pairing – is available for our hops fans.

I know the event starts at 530 but I will most likely be there closer to six...

Tasha, not a problem. We will be mingling from 5:30 until about 6:45'ish, and then sit down for dinner.

I just noticed that a Wine Bistro just opened up in Westerville at the corner of Polaris & State St. I am going to have to check it out.

Yes, and managed by the "old" manager at Lane Ave. location. Let us know what you think.
