Let's teach each other about the extreme corners of science, technology, and our minds. Let's meet the unevenly-distributed future. Let's improve our selves, unbounded by biology.
For 2017, we're doing two complementary events every month:
• In the east, over drinks, typically on Friday evenings. Now and then, we'll have a talk, perhaps at a larger venue.
• In the west, over breakfast, typically on Saturday mornings.
If you'd like to suggest a specific conversation topic, or would like to give a talk, please let one of us know:)
Topics: Singularity. Continuous self-improvement, from Franklin to Gibson. Sci-fi, exponentials, perception, flow, brain sensing, brain building, synth bio, AI, AR, VR, decentralization, probabilistic computing, analog computing, quantum computing, computational creativity, privacy, security, intellectual property, economics, cryptography, decentralization.
From Wikipedia: The philosophy of Extropy, is an "evolving framework of values and standards for continuously improving the human condition". Extropians believe that advances in science and technology will some day let people live indefinitely [or at least not die when they don't wanna die -- Trent].
